Common thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a bushy perennial that thrives in light to medium, well-draining soil under full to partial sun.  Its leaves, tops, and flowering tops are used in cooking and herbal medicine. It has antiseptic, antibiotic, antiviral, and nervine properties that can potentially help symptoms of ailments such as coughs, infections, restlessness, and more. Used in culinary preparations, it has a earthy, mild bitter, slightly minty/peppery taste. It is commonly added to vegetables, seafood, and meats.
