Green Leaf Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils under full sun to partial sun. Cut flowers to promote additional bloom and to avoid unwanted self-seeding, as plants will easily self seed and spread. It is commonly used in culinary preparations as a seasoning, best added to vegetables, meats, and soups. It is also used as a medicinal herb for its antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, carminative, diuretic, and expectorant properties (among others).
