Growing a Medicinal Garden with Lovelight Herb Farm at The Emporium, Veneta

Lovelight Herb Farm is holding its first workshop of the season at The Emporium in Veneta! This comprehensive training will be taught by Lovelight Herb Farm’s own, Nicki Nielson.
Nicki Nielson is an experienced herbalist and farmer. She has grown plants for many years and has been in Veneta since 2008. Lovelight Herb Farm began in 2013 and has been a community minded training center since its founding.
Nicki loves to grow and preserve medicinal herbs! On her farm she has more than 100 different types of medicinal plants! She’s inspired to use nature as medicine when possible and has many products available using plants from her garden! If you have any further questions or want to check out the farm, plants, or products, just let Nicki know! She can set an appointment with you to have access to the farm and help you purchase available plants!
Nicki uses her love of plants and exhaustive knowledge to routinely help people learn more about plants,how to grow them, and how to preserve or dry them. With the expert knowledge gleaned from Nicki’s training, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running and start growing herbs and other plants!
The training occurring on July 31st is: Growing a Medicinal Garden with Lovelight Herb Farm. There are two separate sessions for your conveniences, 11AM and 1PM. The class will be approximately 1 hour long. The class fee is $10.00.
In this class you’ll learn about a variety of medicinal herbs that can be successfully cultivated locally. You’ll learn about the life cycle of the plants from the seed to harvest to preserving and drying. Taking it a step further, Nicki will dive deep into the uses, why specific plants are grown, and which parts can be used for healing. She’ll also show you how to store them for optimal use.
All participants will be able to ask questions in a laid back presentation. You’ll be provided with reference handouts. These useful handouts will have tons of information and include growing charts as well!
